Writing successful government grants requires the ability to unpack the complexity of a request for proposals (RFP).  It requires attention to a dizzying array of requirements, the ability to work well with a team of program experts, and the creativity to attend to the RFP’s requirements in clear, compelling, and persuasive language.

As a successful writer of many government grants, I relentlessly attend to details while guiding teams of program experts as they develop viable, sound, and competitive programs.  I thrive on the challenge and intensity of the process, understanding that this type of writing project is much more than just the written word.  It is about adhering to the technical specifications of an RFP while creating capacity within the nonprofit organizations.

My government grant writing experience includes proposals to the following agencies:

  • Mid-Atlantic Network of Youth and Family Services for pass-through funding from the U.S Department of Labor’s Employment and Training Administration
  • New York State Office of Children and Family Services
  • U.S. Department of Justice’s Office on Violence Against Women
  • New York City Department of Youth and Community Development
  • New York City Council
  • U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Adolescent Health
  • U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Children and Families
